December 2013

A few years ago, I removed the plaster from the main bedroom wall. I liked the exposed stone/brick walls, although I have to admit that the room could get a little dark.

For some time I'd also considered building some wardrobes. I'd built some for my youngest child's house and was happy with the result.

But, realising that stone walls aren't exactly flat, I faced reality and accepted that I'd first need to replaster a wall (at least).

Although the wardrobe(s) is/are a separate undertaking, here's the wall to which I must have added half a ton of plaster.

I've never figured why, but there're a series of stones that stand proud of the rest of the wall. They're around chest height and run in a line, a few feet apart. There's just the one on this particular wall, or at least there's just one surviving. It seemed right to plaster around it though.
