August 2005 - September 2006 (Part I)

One of the attractions of an old house was, for me, the 'shed'. It was in a pretty poor state, largely the result of the russian vine which had grown under the roof and, in parts, through the walls. Many years of neglect probably had something to do with it too.

Although I had no purpose in mind for the shed at the time, it was crying out for some serious work.

Unfortunately, there were a couple of problems. Firstly, the need to work on the house and a winter resulted in a gap of several months before I could tackle the interior. More important though, was my underestimation of the seriousness of rising and penetrating damp.

Which meant that the time spent on the interior was wasted. Still, that did mean that I could try again when I had a use for the shed.
