It's hard to believe that this month has flown by so quickly; it's a month since I last updated. I'd never have thought that I'd have so little free time for weeks on end. Still, it's not all been work. A couple of weeks ago we went to Cork; a surprise trip Paula had organised. At this point I should remark on Paula's organisational skills; everything went like clockwork. I'd never seen anything like it before. More about this later.

Anyway, Cork was nice; everything lokked kind of like this.

We found some great, traditional pubs, even managing a lock-in one night. Although one of our favourites wasn't exactly traditional (well, at least the exterior is painted too) ... Fred Zeppelin's.

We did more than spend time n pubs though. Many steep hills were climbed during our long walks around Cork and beyond. In fact, Paula was so invigorated by all the exercise that she took up horse riding. Here's a picture of her on her lovely horse.

Yes, we enjoyed our time in Cork. Dublin wasn't bad either.

I should add that Dublin wasn't planned. After missing our return flight, and finding that the next one wasn't for another four days, we thought it wise to try for a flight from Dublin. So off we went in search of an internet cafe where Paula booked a flight for the following day. Unfortunately, she booked the flight for the wrong day and, in the space of five minutes, had to pay an extortionate charge to change the flight to the right day. It wouldn't have been so bad if Paula hadn't been using my credit card.

One of my reasons to panic over the possibility of a delayed flight was my plan to see Cyndi Lauper in Glasgow. Fortunately, I was able to make it to Glasgow to the concert. I'd not seen her since 1995, so i have to admit that I was a little worried that she'd be past it. But she was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. And still a true goddess. She stood right next to me at one point, dripping sweat everywhere and singing her heart out. Yes, a goddess.

There was even a visit to the 13th note, a really great bar in Glasgow. Vegetarian food too.

And the other night we went to see Elbow at the Sage. As always, the acoustics in the Sage were great. As were Elbow. The evening ended with autographs after Paula climbed through the band's dressing room window with her camera. She now has a photo of Guy Garvey looking very scared as her camera loomed towards him.
