In a random moment, during a visit to Messrs B&Q, I bought a hristmas tree. I wasn't at all influenced by the breakfast tv I watched while working at home on Friday. Well, perhaps only a little. I'm now quite informed as to Christmas trees, Ours is Norweigan. From Scotland.

.If you look closely enough you can see the camera lens. I have nice wine tonight. A very nice Kabinett. I like German wine you know. Well, not any German wine, because (like most wine) a lot of it contains bits of dead things. I'd probably like any German wine if I wasn't vegetarian, but I am so I stick to QMP stuff (Qualitatswein mit pradikat) or stuff that is kindly labelled as being free of pieces of things deceased.  Anyway, this wine is very nice indeed. It's full of vitamins too, I'm sure, since it's made from fruit. This is an important point since I've been on a diet for two weeks now. It's going very nicely too; as is my stomach. I'd never have imagined that a diet could be so little fuss. I eat a lot of soup and apples, but eat only a few biscuits and no chips. I've decided to keep it up a little longer.

Bugger ... the wine's all gone!

It snowed this morning. Although by the time I took this picture, it'd almost completely melted away.

We've been making an extra effort to put food out for the birds lately, in view of the sudden change of weather. And because it's nice to have birds in the garden. We seem to have other wildlife too. The (once) cute little mice of the Summer, the ones that fed on the rabbit's food, appear to have taken up permanent residence. They're quite adaptable too.

I think we'll be going through a lot of bird seed this winter. The next photo is a couple of weeks old; Paula took the picture of this creature when I was cutting the grass. Her camera's better than mine I think.

After searching in vain for weeks, trying to find the charger for my very sensible (well, so I thought last year) purchase of a rechargable strimmer (used only once), I decided today to admit defeat and buy another. Wired, of course. While on the bus home I started reading the advertisements on the inside of the bus. One was simply a look how great a bus company we are kind of advertisement, about easy access buses. Or east access busses?

I did wonder whether it had gone unnoticed or whether it wasn't deemed worth the expense of replacing the sign. I imagine they're expensive.
